About Susan

Susan Hayes has provided professional writing and copyediting services since 1999. A published poet, journalist, blogger and columnist, her areas of expertise include human interest and topical articles and blogs; private and public grants; internet and intranet content; mission and vision statements; and public relations and marketing collateral.

Her original work has been published in magazines, trade journals, websites and newspapers, and her weekly newspaper column, Around Pleasanton, appeared for nine years in the Mercury News, Valley Times, East Bay Times, and Contra Costa Times, with a combined circulation of five million.

Susan holds an MS in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco and worked for 10 years in non-profit executive management, where her marketing, grant writing and fundraising activities netted over $2 Million for philanthropic organizations. She continues to serve her community on non-profit boards, advisory councils, and civic commissions.
